MONAHAN,
Dr. Thomas A. of the Glen Oaks section of the Township of Gloucester, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2023. Dr. Monahan was predeceased by his wife Mary of 25 years in 1998 and is survived by his beloved daughter Melissa and loving brother Michael (Kathy) Monahan of Wisconsin. Thomas is also survived by his nieces; Laura Monahan, Paula (Dennis) Lewis and Jennifer Monahan, also of Wisconsin.
Thomas received his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology in 1968 from Gannon College in Erie, Pennsylvania. Thomas then served his country from 1968 until 1972 in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War era, in the Army Corp of Engineers stationed in Germany. Thomas continued on and graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in1978. He then practiced medicine from 1978 until 1992 at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey and went on to practice medicine as the “game day physician” for the Philadelphia Phillies fans at Veteran's Stadium until 2003. Thomas then completed his career at the Girard Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by retiring in 2018.
Thomas enjoyed sewing by making clothing and upholstered items. He also considered himself quite the “handyman”.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Mass on Monday morning, November 20 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Hope Parish, ST. AGNES CHURCH, 701 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood, New Jersey 08012. Interment is private.
